Sounds obvious doesn’t it? Success… is… for… everyone. Not so in this day and age unfortunately with more and more people believing that they are stuck in the proverbial rut.
Too often the term success is used to describe great increases in money, power and status while forgetting the smaller but equally important daily successes that hopefully lead to those things. Case in point is entrepreneurship. Everyone these days wants to be an entrepreneur because of the massive media focus on this side of the business landscape. There TV programmes, books, magazines and even university courses focused solely on this topic.
Not everyone can be a hugely successful entrepreneur… it’s a fact! Most people can though be successful in business and that is something worth working for. Trouble is too many of us are busy worrying about how we are going to make our millions that we forget that it isn’t just about making money.
The idea of gradual, building success can help sustain us through the hard times and applies in all areas of life not just business. Attaining milestones and importantly recognising them is key to success in this world filled with distraction. When I work with my clients I find it highly important to identify and lock onto these milestones as they provide the much needed evidence of success. Rather than a winner takes all approach my clients and i get to enjoy the journey.
This probably sounds like an obvious principle but in the time I have been coaching I have found an amazingly small number of people doing this.
